“Criminology and Punishment” New Publication from UOB’s College of Law

The book “Criminology and Punishment”, authored by Dr. Adel Hamed Bashier,

Associate Professor of Criminal Law in the Public Law Department at the University of Bahrain, was released in its first edition in 2023.

“Criminology and Punishment” offers a comprehensive overview of the principles, evolution, and contemporary issues related to crime and penal systems. The book explores the development of criminological thought, the factors influencing criminal behavior, and the relationship between crime, society, and law. It further examines the philosophy and purpose of punishment, highlighting modern approaches to justice, rehabilitation, and social reform within national legal frameworks.
