During HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s official visit to Malaysia, UoB signs MoU with USM

In the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and as part of the official visit to Malaysia, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the University of Bahrain (UoB) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) to enhance academic cooperation.

 

The MoU includes the exchange of faculty and lecturers and the development of joint academic programmes. It was signed by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Professor. Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed, Vice Chancellor of USM, on behalf of Malaysia.

 

The five-year MoU aims to enhance collaboration in postgraduate studies, joint research, academic publishing, and the organisation of joint academic events.

 

Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of UoB, commended the outcome of the official visit of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to Malaysia. He noted that the signing of the MoU with one of Malaysia’s leading universities would advance the academic and research ties between Bahrain and Malaysia in the education, higher education, and scientific research domains.
