Education Minister chairs UoB Board of Trustees meeting

The Board of Trustees of the University of Bahrain (UoB) held its regular meeting, chaired by Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board, in the presence of all members and the University President, Dr. Fuad Al Ansari.
The Board congratulated the university and its staff on successfully completing the institutional review conducted by the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA), which resulted in a distinguished rating.
The Board reviewed progress on the strategic partnership project between the UoB and Times Higher Education (THE), aimed at securing the university’s inclusion in the global ranking for the first time, enhancing its competitiveness at the local, regional, and international levels.
Members were also briefed on updates regarding the university’s regulations and both its general and detailed organisational structures. The Chairman confirmed ongoing coordination with the Civil Service Bureau to appoint qualified Bahraini leadership across the university.
The meeting also addressed the student course evaluation system and the latest developments from the Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership.
The following reports were reviewed during the meeting:
- The final institutional review report issued by the BQA
- The Academic Committee report
- The Audit and Finance Committee report
- The University’s recent performance report, including academic and developmental updates
At the conclusion, Dr. Juma reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to closely monitoring the University’s progress to ensure it continues to enhance its competitiveness, improve academic outcomes, and strengthen partnerships with the private sector.
