Honorable Mention for the University of Bahrain Team at AI Hackathon 2024
A team from the College of Information Technology at the University of Bahrain (UOB) received an Honorable Mention at the Artificial Intelligence Hackathon 2024 for their innovative project that leverages computer vision and deep learning to detect car accidents in real-time. The system sends instant alerts to the relevant authorities, contributing to improved emergency response and enhanced public safety, and highlighting the practical application of artificial intelligence in real-world scenarios.
The hackathon encourages talented students to apply artificial intelligence, data science, and machine learning technologies to develop innovative solutions addressing challenges in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The event was sponsored by Benefit Bahrain and organized by the College of Information Technology at the University of Bahrain, reflecting strong collaboration between academia and industry.
Participants developed their projects using the Benefit AI and Advanced Computing Laboratory, including the Benefit AI High Performance Computing (HPC) Cluster, gaining hands-on experience with advanced AI tools and infrastructure. The event, held on March 30, 2024, provided a dynamic platform for creativity, teamwork, and innovation.
