Interactive Workshop to Develop Public Speaking Skills at the University of Bahrain

Students at the University of Bahrain took part in an interactive workshop on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, aimed at helping them master the art of public speaking.

The workshop was presented by Ruqaya Aamer, founder of Makan School of Speech and Drama. It explored the core components of impactful communication, guiding students through strategies for organizing their ideas, delivering messages clearly, and engaging in dynamic discussions.

The session highlighted the importance of public speaking as an essential life and career skill. Strong speaking abilities help individuals speak with confidence, connect with others, and build lasting relationships. They also enable people to promote and sell a product, learn and grow, share ideas effectively, and lead others with influence.

Participants also took part in interactive speaking exercises, giving them the opportunity to put the techniques into practice and receive hands-on guidance during the session.

The workshop forms part of the English Language Center’s ongoing commitment to equipping students with the communication and leadership skills they need to succeed in their academic and professional journeys.
