Midwifery Students Empowered Expectant Mothers Through Antenatal Care Sessions

Midwifery students from the College of Health and Sport Sciences at the University of Bahrain assessed the learning needs of expectant mothers and delivered individual and group antenatal education sessions as part of the midwifery curriculum. The sessions covered antenatal visits, balanced nutrition, hygiene, rest and exercise, danger signs in pregnancy, birth preparedness, immunisation and emotional well-being. Students used posters, models, videos and case scenarios suited to different literacy levels, so that every mother could understand the information and apply it with confidence.
