Chaired by Minister of Education.. University of Bahrain Board of Trustees Holds Its Regular Meeting

Chaired by the Minister of Education, the University of Bahrain Board of Trustees held its third regular meeting of 2026. The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board, and attended by board members and invited guests via video conference.

At the start of the meeting, H.E. the Minister of Education commended the university’s advanced global achievement in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings for 2026, praising the significant role played by the Board of Trustees, the university administration, and its members in reaching this milestone.

The board was then briefed on the latest updates regarding the university’s construction projects and progress made, along with the agreements, memoranda of understanding, and cooperation pacts signed during the second quarter of 2026 with local, regional, and international institutions. The steps taken to activate these agreements and leverage their benefits in academic, research, and training fields were also reviewed. The board further discussed a proposal to establish a College of Design at the university and the measures taken by the university to improve its position in global rankings.

The board reviewed a comprehensive report on the cooperation projects and partnerships formed by the university between November 2025 and June 2026 with governmental, academic, and industrial entities both within and outside the Kingdom of Bahrain. These partnerships have helped support scientific research, develop academic programs, enhance hands-on training, and expand innovation, sustainability, and community service initiatives.
