New Postgraduate Diploma to Empower Language Teachers at UOB

The University of Bahrain has announced the approval of a new Postgraduate Diploma in Language and Literacy, a specialized program designed to enhance the skills of Arabic and English language teachers across the kingdom. The program is set to commence in the upcoming academic year.

Spearheaded by Dr. Samia Al-Basuny, who served as Team Leader, the diploma program consists of six comprehensive courses delivered over two semesters. The curriculum is specifically designed to strengthen teachers’ pedagogical skills in literacy instruction, addressing a critical need for advanced professional development in this area.

The program’s development involved rigorous curriculum design and quality assurance processes to ensure it meets the highest standards. This initiative underscores the University’s commitment to national development and aligns directly with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 for Quality Education, promoting inclusive and equitable lifelong learning opportunities.
