NIHR and UOB Legal Clinic Conclude Student Training Program

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), in partnership with the Legal and Human Rights Clinic at the College of Law, University of Bahrain, successfully completed its training program for law students during the second semester of the 2023–2024 academic year. The program aimed to strengthen awareness and understanding of human rights among students while promoting a culture of respect for fundamental rights within the community.

The program was inaugurated by Ms. Fatima Al-Tarif, Head of the Training and Education Unit at NIHR, who provided participants with an overview of the program structure, training methodologies, and research approaches employed throughout the initiative.

Following this, Mr. Mohammed Al-Najjar, Head of the Legal Affairs Unit, delivered a lecture covering general human rights principles, fundamental freedoms, and the national, regional, and international mechanisms for their protection.

A select group of students from the University of Bahrain’s Legal and Human Rights Clinic participated in the program, which was implemented by a team of legal and human rights specialists from NIHR. The initiative concluded in May 2024, providing participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical insight into human rights practices and advocacy.

The collaboration reflects the ongoing commitment of both NIHR and the University of Bahrain to foster human rights awareness, professional development, and community engagement among emerging legal professionals.
