Specify the Minors
This service enables students to submit a request to the Head of the Academic Department to select a minor specialization, in accordance with the approved study plans in the Colleges of Science, Business Administration, and Arts. The service is available during the pre-registration and registration periods of each academic semester and is not available during the summer semester. Students are permitted to change their minor specialization a maximum of two times throughout their study period.
Conditions
- A student needs to be enrolled in an academic program that requires a minor specialization in the colleges of Arts, Business Administration, and Science.
- Special requirement of the College of Business Administration: to pass 84 credits of the study plan.

eService Steps
- Log in to the student website (sis.uob.edu.bh).
- Select “Specify Minor and Specialization Request” , then click on the Add Request .
- Specifying the minor: If you want to choose one of the minors offered by the colleges and academic departments… select the minor that you want from the (Minor) box – adhering to the minors offered by the colleges and academic departments listed in the table below. Press the (Save) button. *When the student has completed the application process, the application status (New) will appear to the student. After the required approval by the head of the specific department, the status of the application will be changed to (Approve).
- Specifying the single track: to choose a single track major, choose the major that you want from the (Major) box, and click the (Save) button. When the student has completed the application process, the application status (New) will appear. After the required approval by the head of the concerned department, the status of the application will be changed to (Approve).
- Students of Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies: To choose this minor, follow these steps:
- Bachelor or Arts in Islamic Studies with major (Sharia) and a minor: choose the major from the (Major) cell, choose the minor from the (Minor) cell, then click (Save).
- Bachelor or Arts in Islamic Studies (Sharia) – Single: choose the major from the (Major) cell, then click (Save).
- Bachelor or Arts in Islamic Studies major (Principles of Religion) with a minor: choose the major from the (Major) cell, choose the minor from the (Minor) cell, then click (Save).
- Bachelor or Arts in Islamic Studies, major (Principles of Religion)- single: choose the major from the (Major) cell, then click (Save).
- Students of the Bachelor of Science in Biology: choose the Minor (Such as Bachelor of Science in Biology -Chemistry 2017) or the single Track (such as: Bachelor of Science in Biology -Single) from the (Major) cell, then click (Save).
- Students of the Bachelor of Arts in Tourism and the Bachelor of Arts in History: after selecting the minor from the(Minor) cell, choose the specialization from the “Specialization” field, then click “Save”.
