The College of Health & Sport Sciences at the University of Bahrain is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Professional Certificate in Diagnostic Ultrasonography. This program is designed to equip healthcare professionals with comprehensive training that integrates theoretical knowledge and hands-on clinical practice in an advanced educational environment.

The program spans five months (20 weeks) at 20 hours per week, delivered entirely in English, with a total of 440 accredited hours covering theory, laboratory, and practical training — at a competitive tuition fee of BHD 2,000 .

Applicants select one track to specialize in:

Track 1: Abdominal Ultrasonography
Covers comprehensive diagnostic scanning of abdominal and visceral organs using ultrasound techniques, including image acquisition and diagnostic interpretation.
Track 2: OB/GYN Ultrasonography
Focuses on specialized imaging in women's health, covering pregnancy monitoring, obstetric diagnostics, and gynecological conditions.
Integrated Program Structure
Phase 1 — Theory & Laboratory

Phase 2 — Clinical Training

Admission Requirements & Target Audience

The program is open to healthcare professionals who meet the following criteria:

  • Radiologic Technology: Associate diploma as a minimum qualification.
  • Nursing: Bachelor of Nursing or a Higher Diploma in Midwifery.
  • Medicine: Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS).
  • General Requirements (all disciplines):
    • Cumulative GPA of no less than 2.0 out of 4.0.
    • Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a related healthcare field.
    • Valid professional license from: NHRA, SCFHS, or OMSB.
    • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • Documentation of immunization against infectious diseases.
Graduation & Certificate Requirements
Achieve a passing grade of no less than 70% in all theoretical and practical components.
Successfully complete Successfully complete 200 hours of clinical practical training at accredited hospitals. at accredited hospitals.
