Development of educational resources, Research programmes and Student volunteering programmes?
University of Bahrain (UoB) demonstrates sustained, structured collaboration with national and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to tackle the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the development of educational resources, joint research programs, and student engagement initiatives. These partnerships span Islamic finance, engineering, human rights, entrepreneurship, heritage preservation, and data analytics, and are embedded across UoB’s academic, research, and outreach activities.
Key collaborations include:
- AAOIFI: Co-development of Islamic finance curricula and professional programs.
- UNDP: Joint academic program integrating SDGs into university curricula and a workshop embedding Business and Human Rights principles into teaching.
- UNIDO: Entrepreneurship training and innovation exchange with international academic partners.
- GSMR: Technical education and sustainable engineering practices through joint research and training.
- IEEE & Informs Bahrain: Co-hosted international conferences advancing SDG-aligned research and public knowledge exchange.
These initiatives reflect UoB’s institutional commitment to working with NGOs to advance sustainable development through education, research, and student-led action, fully satisfying THE Impact Rankings Indicator 17.2.5.
