UOB President: Achieving Afforestation Plan Goals Requires the Combined Efforts of all Institutions and Individuals
Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, praised the initiative of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in launching this year’s “Tree Week” initiative. The aim is to promote environmental awareness and encourage the adoption of eco-friendly practices. He noted HRH’s directive to hold an innovation competition for irrigation solutions, which aims to encourage creative ideas and solutions. This contributes to developing modern irrigation technologies, expanding their networks in public areas, supporting the afforestation plan, increasing green spaces, and enhancing the sustainability of water resources and innovation in green development fields.
This came during his participation in planting a number of trees on the university campus, as part of the Tree Week activities. He emphasized that achieving the afforestation plan goals requires the concerted efforts of all institutions and individuals, confirming that the university had already worked according to a plan to increase green spaces on campus and improve the quality of vegetation. He also noted the keenness of the Board of Trustees members, the administrative and academic staff, and students to participate and attend the event, which is part of Tree Week in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
