UNESCO Regional Center Delegation Praises Mohammed Jaber Al Ansari College and Explores Cooperation

‏The President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, received the Director-General of the UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al-Mudaires, to discuss ways to strengthen collaboration in elevating and developing the quality of education at the Mohammed Jaber Al-Ansari College for Teachers.

The two sides explored opportunities to cooperate in supporting specialized initiatives aimed at developing teacher preparation and enhancing education quality, in keeping with best educational practices and the goals of educational development.

Preliminary discussions were also held on launching two initiatives in partnership with the UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education: the “Teacher I Want” initiative and a proposal to establish a “Scientific Chair for Sustainable Green Education.” Both initiatives remain subject to further study and coordination between the two parties.

The visit included a tour of the college’s facilities and a presentation outlining its history, mission, academic programs, and key initiatives. The two sides also discussed ways to expand their cooperation.

The UNESCO Regional Center delegation praised the college’s accomplishments, commending its efforts in developing teacher preparation programs, enhancing education quality, and contributing to the advancement of the educational system. The delegation also praised the strategic partnership between the college and the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain, affirming that it serves as a pioneering model to be emulated regionally.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Fatimah Ibrahim Al-Roaiss, Assistant Director-General of the UNESCO Regional Center; Dr. Esra Ahmed Wali, UOB’s Vice President for Partnerships and Development; and Dr. Mervat Isa Al-Bufalasa, Vice Dean of the college. ‎
