University of Bahrain Academics Leverage Artificial Intelligence in Test Development

Academics at the University of Bahrain explored ways to boost participation in university classrooms, methods for developing tests using artificial intelligence, and approaches to creating question banks and aligning them with learning outcomes.  These topics were addressed in a remote workshop titled: “Principles for the Effective Use of the Blackboard Platform to Enhance Interaction and Assessment”, held on Tuesday (May 12, 2026).

The workshop highlighted how to use assessment rubrics to ensure transparency and shed light on ways to configure security settings using the LockDown Browser feature. It also covered time-saving techniques through content reuse.

The workshop aimed to enable faculty members to use the Blackboard Ultra platform effectively by taking advantage of live interaction tools and smart assessment methods, with an emphasis on practical application in the classroom.

The event was organized by the Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership (UTEL) and was delivered by Dalal Abdulkarim Ahmed, a lecturer in the College of Arts at the University of Bahrain.
