University of Bahrain Celebrates Chinese New Year with Silk Road Cultural Season
The Confucius Institute at the University of Bahrain, in collaboration with the Shanghai International Culture Association, hosted the “Bahrain Chinese New Year Silk Road Cultural Season” on Sunday, 15 February 2026. The event, held on the university campus, was part of the larger “Silk Road’s Intangible Cultural Heritage: China-Arab Cultural Grand Tour Season.”
Attendees viewed the traditions of Chinese culture through a variety of interactive activities including: a Lion Dance performance and other traditional dances, a selection of traditional Chinese foods and the art of Chinese calligraphy.
Such celebrations serve as a vibrant platform for fostering cultural exchange and strengthening the bonds of friendship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the People’s Republic of China. They also reflect the two institutions’ commitment to promoting mutual understanding and deepening appreciation of the shared heritage that extends along the historic Silk Road.
