University of Bahrain Contributes Expertise to Bahrain’s National Human Development Report on Digital Transformation
The University of Bahrain (UOB) contributed its academic and technological expertise to the development of Bahrain’s National Human Development Report on Digital Transformation, prepared through collaboration between the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The University’s contribution was provided by Dr. Mazen Mohammed Ali, Dean of the College of Information Technology, as part of the report review and feedback process. Dr. Ali provided expert observations on the maturity and current use of artificial intelligence in universities, contributing a higher education perspective to the assessment of Bahrain’s evolving digital transformation landscape.
The University’s input addressed areas associated with the adoption of artificial intelligence in higher education, including institutional readiness, skills development, data and governance, cybersecurity, responsible use of technology, and emerging opportunities for innovation.
UOB’s participation reflects the University’s commitment to contributing academic expertise to national development initiatives and strengthening collaboration between higher education, research institutions, and international development organizations. The engagement also supports knowledge exchange and evidence-informed dialogue on digital transformation, human-capital development, innovation, and the responsible adoption of emerging technologies.
Through contributions of this nature, the University of Bahrain continues to support national efforts to advance a knowledge-based and digitally enabled society while strengthening partnerships that contribute to sustainable development.
