University of Bahrain Familiarizes Its Staff with Cybersecurity Basics
Academic and administrative staff members of the University of Bahrain (UOB) participated in a workshop titled “Cybersecurity Basics” on Sunday, May 10, 2026. The workshop was organized by the Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership (UTEL) in coordination with the university’s College of Information Technology.
During the workshop, participants learned about the fundamental concepts of cybersecurity and its importance, and the potential impact of cyber threats on individuals and institutions. The workshop covered several key topics, most notably: network security, encryption, access control, vulnerability assessment, and incident response methods.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Wael Mohamed Elmedany, Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at the College of Information Technology, UOB.
