University of Bahrain Holds “Thinking Outside the Box” Training for Supreme Council for Youth & Sports Employees
The University of Bahrain organized a training program on Sunday, 14 June 2026, for employees of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, titled “Creativity and Thinking Outside the Box.” The program was arranged by the university’s Community Service and Continuing Education Center, in cooperation with the Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership.
The program adopted a learning-by-doing approach, featuring hands-on application, simulations, role-playing, and brainstorming to solve real-world problems through case studies, alongside collaborative learning and mental games.
The training aimed to break down mental blocks, break free from conventional thinking patterns, and help participants master innovation tools using practical techniques. It also introduced attendees to flexible problem-solving methods by fostering a creative culture.
The program covered several key themes, including: overcoming mental rigidity and barriers to workplace creativity; the SCAMPER technique for development and innovation at work; the Six Thinking Hats method for managing meetings and solving problems; Walt Disney’s creative strategy (the Dreamer, the Realist, and the Critic); and mechanisms for turning creative ideas into actionable work plans.
The course was delivered by Dr. Mayasa Sultan Alsowaidi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Management and Marketing at the College of Business Administration at the University of Bahrain.
