University of Bahrain Introduces Foundation Students to Key Study Skills

The University of Bahrain introduced Foundation Program students to the course “Study Skills for Orientation (SSO 011)” on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. The course aims to prepare students for successful integration into higher education and to develop the self-confidence and discipline needed for academic study.

The English Language Center at the University of Bahrain organized the orientation program for over 3,000 students, covering the course content and study plan. The program also highlighted what it means to be a UOB student and part of the University of Bahrain community, emphasizing the responsibilities, values, and commitment associated with university life. It encouraged students to develop a strong sense of citizenship, belonging, and positive participation in Bahraini society.

Instructors addressed several key topics, including an introduction to student life at UOB, personal well-being and university success, digital life at university, how we learn, preparing for exams, setting goals and managing time, and academic integrity and AI.

The course helps students adapt to university life through lectures, workshops, and seminars. It also builds personal and study skills needed on both academic and personal levels. As a practical course with hands-on activities, students develop skills such as practical thinking, problem solving, communication, and academic skills.
