University of Bahrain Launches a Comprehensive Policy Regulating the Use of Artificial Intelligence

The University of Bahrain has recently launched a comprehensive policy to regulate the use of artificial intelligence technologies across its academic, research, and administrative activities, in line with keeping pace with rapid technological developments.

The announcement of the policy was made during a specialized workshop delivered by Dr. Raed Ebrahim Al-Jowder from the Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership, in the presence of a group of academic staff members at the university.

The policy aims to establish a balanced regulatory framework that ensures optimal utilization of advanced AI capabilities while adhering to the highest standards of academic integrity and professional ethics, thereby promoting responsible innovation within the university environment. The policy applies to all members of the university community, including faculty members, students, researchers, and administrative staff.

The workshop, held on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, presented practical models for the use of artificial intelligence in the educational process. It emphasized encouraging students to employ these technologies to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems, contributing to the enhancement of their analytical and technological thinking skills and bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application.

This initiative underscores the University of Bahrain’s pioneering role in embracing digital transformation and adopting future technologies with a sense of responsibility and institutional awareness, supporting the quality of education and scientific research, and contributing to the strengthening of the knowledge-based economy in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
