University of Bahrain Launches Advanced Clinical Simulation Center in Presence of Supreme Council of Health President

The University of Bahrain has officially inaugurated its Advanced Clinical Simulation Center in the presence of His Excellency Lieutenant General Doctor Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council of Health. The initiative reflects the university’s commitment to advancing healthcare education and training in line with international standards while enhancing the readiness of national healthcare professionals to meet the growing demands of the sector.

On the occasion, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa emphasized that the new center represents a strategic investment in Bahrain’s human capital and a significant step toward strengthening the quality of healthcare education and training in the Kingdom. He noted that such initiatives contribute to preparing future healthcare practitioners capable of keeping pace with rapid developments in the healthcare sector and supporting national efforts to deliver high-quality and sustainable healthcare services.

Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Bahrain, expressed his appreciation to the President of the Supreme Council of Health for his continued support of the project, his close follow-up during its development, and his attendance at the inauguration ceremony. He highlighted that the center aligns with the university’s experiential learning approach and its broader efforts to modernize academic programs and projects in accordance with the latest global trends in healthcare education.

For his part, Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, described the center as a significant addition to the university’s healthcare education ecosystem. He noted that the facility demonstrates the university’s dedication to providing a state-of-the-art learning environment that utilizes advanced simulation technologies to prepare highly qualified Bahraini healthcare professionals capable of meeting current and future healthcare sector needs.

Meanwhile, Dr. Lina Mohammed Khenji, Dean of the College of Health and Sports Sciences, stated that the inauguration marks an important milestone in the college’s development journey and enhances its ability to prepare competent national healthcare professionals through modern educational methodologies. She emphasized that clinical simulation has become a cornerstone of contemporary healthcare education due to its role in improving patient safety and the quality of healthcare services.

The Advanced Clinical Simulation Center represents a major advancement in nursing education and the practice of advanced clinical skills. Beginning in their second year, nursing students will undertake practical training at the center, applying clinical skills through the use of high-fidelity simulation manikins in environments that closely replicate real hospital settings. This approach is designed to develop nursing professionals who possess the competence, confidence, and ability to provide safe and high-quality patient care.

The facility is equipped with 15 high-technology simulation models, some of which are among the most advanced available worldwide. These resources enable the implementation of realistic and sophisticated training scenarios that support interactive learning, interdisciplinary training, and the development of critical decision-making skills in emergency and high-risk clinical situations.

Designed to meet the requirements of nursing curricula at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, the center supports a wide range of specialties, including emergency and trauma care, cardiac patient care, critical care, pediatric nursing, midwifery and maternity care, mental health nursing, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training. The facility strengthens the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical application throughout the educational process.

This advanced educational model allows students to acquire essential clinical competencies within a safe and interactive learning environment before progressing to field training in hospitals and healthcare centers. As a result, students are better prepared for professional practice and are able to achieve higher levels of clinical performance in line with international best practices and technology-driven healthcare education standards.

The establishment of the center forms part of the University of Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to enhance its educational facilities, support academic excellence, and realize its vision of graduating skilled professionals equipped with the knowledge and expertise needed to contribute effectively to the development of Bahrain’s healthcare sector and the service of society.
