University of Bahrain Launches First Professional Program in Diagnostic Ultrasound Imaging

The College of Health and Sports Sciences at the University of Bahrain has announced the launch of a professional certificate program in “Diagnostic Ultrasound Imaging,” aimed at graduates of radiologic technology, nursing, and medicine. The program qualifies its graduates to obtain an advanced license in this vital specialty.

On this occasion, Dr. Fuad Al-Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, affirmed that the launch of this program embodies the University’s commitment to taking a leading role in offering specialized academic initiatives with a direct impact on national development. He noted that its uniqueness as the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Bahrain reflects the University’s dedication to anticipating the needs of vital sectors and providing innovative educational and professional solutions to prepare competitive Bahraini cadres with the practical readiness to contribute effectively to the advancement of health services.

For her part, Dr. Leena Khonji, Dean of the College of Health and Sports Sciences, explained that the program has been designed according to advanced academic principles that ensure the integration of theoretical knowledge and intensive practical training, thereby guaranteeing the qualification of specialists capable of performing this type of imaging with high proficiency. She pointed out that the program’s strength lies in its direct response to the needs of the local job market, making it a qualitative addition and an important opportunity to expand professional development pathways for national cadres.

The program spans five months of intensive education and is divided into two specialized tracks: the abdominal diagnostic ultrasound imaging track and the obstetrics and gynecology track. The program’s distinction is highlighted by its combination of scientific qualification and focused applied training, equipping participants to acquire advanced skills in work environments that demand high diagnostic precision.
