University of Bahrain Participates in Dialogue Seminar on World Elderly Day
Celebrating the World Elderly Day, a number of academics from the University of Bahrain participated in a dialogue seminar titled “Adapting to the Autumn of Life.” The seminar was held via the Zoom platform on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
The seminar was moderated by Dr. Dunya Ahmed, President of the Economy of Inspiration Association and a member of the University’s Social Sciences Department. Participants included: Dr. Adel Al-Awfi, a geriatric psychiatry consultant; Dr. Ahlam Al-Qasimi, Head of the Social Sciences Department at the University; Mr. Obaidly Al-Obaidly, a writer and one of the founders of the Association; and Dr. Mohamed Bouhaji, founder of the Economy of Inspiration.
The speakers discussed ways to adapt to the stage of aging from social, psychological and health perspectives, as part of the Association’s events to commemorate World Elderly Day.
The seminar contributed to strengthening partnerships across different sectors, serving as a model for cooperation between the University, the Economy of Inspiration Association, and healthcare specialists, to exchange knowledge and expertise aimed at improving the quality of life for the elderly.
