University of Bahrain Prepares Students for Labor Market Demands and Challenges
Students from the College of Engineering at the University of Bahrain participated in a lecture titled “Spread Your Wings,” held in collaboration with the Student Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers International. The event was part of ongoing efforts to enhance students’ career readiness.
The lecture was delivered by Engineer Imad Al-Hamdani from the Sultanate of Oman, who spoke about the importance of empowering students to build a clear vision for their career paths and effectively prepare for integration into the labor market. He also addressed the most prominent challenges graduates may face and strategies for navigating them, emphasizing the importance of shifting from waiting for opportunities to proactively creating them.
Al-Hamdani highlighted positive and negative behaviors that influence job interviews and their direct impact on employment prospects. He also reviewed the local labor market landscape, outlining its key advantages and challenges, along with effective ways to address them.
He further stressed the importance of students taking responsibility for developing their personal and professional skills and cultivating the right mindset to succeed, ensuring a confident and competent transition into professional life after graduation.
