University of Bahrain Publishes 208 FET 26 Conference Papers on IEEE’s Global Research Platform

The University of Bahrain has published 208 papers from the International Conference on Frontiers of Engineering and Emerging Technologies (FET 26) on the digital platform of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), one of the world’s leading platforms for publishing and indexing engineering and technology research. The papers were published after meeting all publication requirements.

The University’s College of Engineering organized the conference, its first multidisciplinary international edition, on 22 and 23 April 2026 under the theme “Harnessing Innovation and Computational Intelligence for Engineering Solutions in Sustainable Development.” Researchers, academics, engineers, and specialists from more than 50 countries took part. The conference brought together diverse engineering disciplines within a single scientific framework to support innovation, strengthen research collaboration, and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals.

FET 26 was technically sponsored by IEEE and supported by the IEEE Bahrain Section, the IEEE Communications Society Bahrain Chapter, the IEEE Computer Society Bahrain Chapter, and IEEE Region 8 (Middle East, Europe, and Africa).

HE Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. Dr. Fuad Mohamed Al-Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, chaired the conference, while Dr. Shaikha Haifa bint Ebrahim Al-Khalifa, Dean of the College of Engineering, served as its founder and Chair of the Steering Committee.

The conference received more than 490 papers across six technical tracks covering a wide range of engineering fields. After a rigorous peer-review process, 216 papers were accepted, an acceptance rate of approximately 44%. More than 1,350 authors and researchers contributed to the submissions.

The scientific program included 47 technical sessions and five keynote lectures by leading academics and international experts: Prof. Mérouane Debbah, Khalifa University, United Arab Emirates; Prof. Venkat Venkatasubramanian, Columbia University, United States; Dr. Nasser Kutkut, Smart Charging Technologies, United States; Prof. Moustafa Amin Youssef, The American University of Cairo, Egypt; and Prof. Shamsad Ahmad, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia.
