University of Bahrain Strengthens Educational Partnerships through Awareness Session on Sustainable Cities and Communities

As part of its commitment to community service and engagement with educational institutions, Dr. Shaikha Fayy bint Abdulla Al Khalifa, Director of the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Center at the University of Bahrain, delivered an awareness session to students of Bahrain Indian School on Sustainable Development Goal 11, “Sustainable Cities and Communities.”

During the session, Dr. Al Khalifa discussed the concepts of sustainability and urbanism and shared her academic expertise with the students in an interactive format. The students showed notable enthusiasm and asked thoughtful questions.

The initiative reflects the role of the University’s academic and administrative members in serving the community, and it strengthens partnerships between the University, schools, and local community institutions. It also supports SDG 17, “Partnerships for the Goals,” particularly the targets on encouraging effective partnerships among public, private, and civil society actors, and on knowledge sharing and capacity building.

Dr. Al Khalifa affirmed the University’s pride in contributing to community service and outreach, noting that sharing knowledge with students, the future stewards of our cities and planet, builds awareness of sustainability. She added that the path toward sustainable urban futures begins with education and awareness at every level.
