University of Bahrain Proudly Celebrates Student Ahmed Rashid Al-Hilli’s Win in the Media, Tourism and Arts Department

The University of Bahrain is proud to announce that Ahmed Rashid Al-Hilli, a student in the Department of Media, Tourism, and Arts at the College of Arts, has won the Best University Student Journalism Project Award, jointly, as part of the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism. The award is held annually under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him.

Al-Hilli received the award for his documentary film, The Cut Boat, which explores the story of a shipwreck located east of Sitra Island since 1964 and reveals how it has evolved over the years into a rare ecosystem and a natural habitat for marine life.

This achievement reflects the excellence of University of Bahrain students and their ability to apply research, investigative, and media production skills in developing high-quality journalism projects that combine documentation with visual storytelling.

The University congratulates Ahmed Rashid Al-Hilli on this achievement and wishes him continued success and distinction.
