University of Bahrain Symposium Commemorates National Action Charter

The University of Bahrain (UOB) commemorated the twenty-fifth anniversary of the National Action Charter with a symposium titled “Bahraini Leadership in Sustainable Development and Future Citizenship,” organized by College of Arts on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Participants engaged in discussions on key economic issues related to education, with a particular focus on higher education. The dialogue covered the evolution of educational specializations, the impact of competition within the education sector, and its role in meeting labor market demands and investing in human capital.

The symposium further explored the role of entrepreneurship and a creative, innovation-driven economy in achieving sustainable development. Discussions highlighted the function of universities as generators of ideas and cultivators of environments that foster innovation and skill refinement, ultimately aiming to build a sustainable creative economy. The role of a digital economy, powered by artificial intelligence, in developing the Kingdom’s financial sector was also a key topic.

Presentations were delivered by Dr. Abdulla Bader Al Sada, General Manager of S Eleven Educational; Dr. Jassim Haji Jassim, Artificial Intelligence Consultant at the HH Shaikh Nasser Center for AI Research and Development; and Dr. Abdulla Khalid Al-Jalahma, Dean of the College of Business Administration at the University of Bahrain. The session was moderated by Mariam Anwar Ahmed, a Teaching and Research Assistant in the Department of Media, Tourism, and Arts at the College of Arts.
