UOB Academics Participate in “Collaborative Learning” Workshop

Academics at the University of Bahrain (UOB) participated in a workshop titled “Collaborative Learning: Activating the Role of Small Groups and Joint Projects” on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. The workshop was organized by the University’s Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership.

The session was led by Dr. Abdelbaky A. Abouzeid, Assistant Professor at UOB’s Bahrain Teachers College, who reviewed the core concepts of collaborative teaching and learning strategies. He explained their mechanisms, objectives within the educational process, and clarified the distinctions between a strategy, a method, and a technique. Dr. Abouzeid also outlined the requirements for selecting the appropriate teaching strategy.

The workshop covered several key elements of the collaborative learning process, including how to form groups, methods for implementing activities, and mechanisms for evaluating both students and teachers. It also presented an overview of major research approaches and findings related to collaborative learning.
