UOB and Dr. Amal Al-Rayes Receive Awards from at Advance HE Festival of Fellowship

Dr. Amal Mohamed Al-Rayes, Director of the Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership at the University of Bahrain, received an award during her participation in the Advance HE Gulf Fellowship Network Forum 2025 at Amity University, UAE. The event celebrated the successes of the Academic Fellowship and its global impact on developing the quality of higher education. The University of Bahrain was also honored for its excellence in the fields of education and leadership.

The University of Bahrain is one of the first institutions outside the United Kingdom to attain Strategic Membership in Advance HE, which it has held since 2013. Under Dr. Amal’s leadership, the University has achieved the remarkable milestone of awarding Fellowships to more than 351 faculty and staff across all categories, thereby joining a global network of over 202,000 Fellows across 118 countries.

During the event, Dr. Amal showcased the University’s experience in implementing qualitative programs such as “She Leads,” which supports female leadership in the Kingdom, and the innovative Academic Leadership Development Program. She emphasized the University’s aspirations for further initiatives in 2025, which will strengthen international partnerships and reflect its commitment to sustainable excellence in higher education.
