UOB Engineering Explores Latest Generative AI Developments

Over 80 participants, students and faculty from the University of Bahrain, as well as institutions inside and outside Bharain, attended two online seminars on “Latent Space Generative AI Models, and AI Computational Hardware”, organized by the College of Engineering at the University of Bahrain.

 

Prof. Prerna Ajmani Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, Technical Campus (VIPS-TC) India, reviewed latent space, generative AI, hardware structure and applications, as well as advanced algorithms in the field of generative AI, in addition to recent international trends, on Monday (12 May 2025).

 

She introduced Generative AI, Latent Space, core Generative models, explained advancements in Latent Space Modeling, real-world applications, AI computer hardware, and future prospects.

 

Abdulla Ebrahim Subah, Computer Science Department, College of IT at UOB, presented AI Computational Hardware and recent updates on NVIDIA, on Monday (19 May 2025).

He discussed the drive towards specialized computing, evolving computational landscape, the need for AI accelerators, High performance AI computing systems, advanced networking and interconnects.

 

The seminars were moderated by Prof. Ebrahim Abdulla Mattar, Professor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the College of Engineering at UOB.
