UOB Equips Faculty to Integrate AI into Teaching

Faculty members at the University of Bahrain participated in a workshop on Wednesday (January 14, 2025), titled “Artificial Intelligence in the Classroom: A Practical Guide for Faculty.”

The workshop aimed to guide faculty in understanding the main concepts of artificial intelligence and identifying its appropriate and inappropriate uses within academic contexts. Participants explored methods for integrating AI into the teaching process and for reviewing assignments using AI to ensure meaningful application of the technology. They also collaborated on drafting a concise AI policy statement for their curricula, taking student expectations into account.

The workshop was organized by the Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership at the University of Bahrain and was led by Dr. Uneb Gazder, Assistant Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering.
