UOB Explores the Implementation of New Moderation Policy

The University of Bahrain held a workshop for faculty members on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, titled “The Mechanism for Implementing the Moderation Policy at the University of Bahrain.”

Dr. Wafa Yaqoob Janahi, Director of the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Office at the College of Law, outlined the nature of moderation, the objectives and scope of the moderation policy, the core principles of moderation, internal moderation procedures, and the roles and responsibilities of academics, as well as the results and impact of moderation on operations.

Moderation is one of the quality assurance processes aimed at ensuring assessment is consistent, fair, accurate, and aligned with approved assessment standards.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness among the Quality Committee on UOB’s moderation policy, clarify the concept, types, and objectives of moderation, review the internal and external procedures adopted by the university, and explain the process for discussing moderation results and their impact on assessment quality.
