UOB Faculty Member Honored at Scientific Research Award for Civil Retirement & Social Insurance

Sarah Hasan Khairi, a faculty member in the Department of Islamic Banking at the University of Bahrain, has been honored at the Scientific Research Award for Civil Retirement and Social Insurance Institutions (2024-2025). Her research was selected among nine winning proposals out of 61 submissions.

Titled “An Innovative Sharia Model for the Social Insurance System in the GCC Countries (Bahrain as a Model)”, Khairi’s study was originally developed as part of her master’s thesis at UOB.

This marks the first edition of the biennial award, launched in Oman to promote research on social protection systems in the GCC. The initiative seeks to advance these systems through innovative, research-driven approaches that adapt to evolving challenges.
