UOB Launches Entrepreneurship Competition for Business Students
The University of Bahrain, in coordination and partnership with the Tamkeen Labour Fund, has announced the launch of the first edition of the Startup-UoB competition for all students of the College of Business, starting from the current academic year.
The competition provides an opportunity for the College of Business graduating students to participate in practical challenges by submitting entrepreneurial projects and ideas. These submissions will be evaluated and judged by experts and specialists. Based on the results, students may qualify to receive support from the Tamkeen Labour Fund, paving the way for their ventures and projects to achieve excellence and leadership in their fields.
In this context, Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, emphasized that the competition will have a significant impact in showcasing the abilities of University of Bahrain students to develop practical, implementable entrepreneurial ideas and projects. These initiatives will also be eligible for support and adoption by leading institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, strengthening the partnership between the University of Bahrain and key sectors across the country.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abdulla Al Jalahma, Dean of the College of Business, praised the partnership with Tamkeen for supporting students’ ideas and projects, which enhances the reputation of the University of Bahrain overall and the College of Business in particular.
The Dean also confirmed that in the coming days, a workshop will be held, and guidance materials will be published to explain the competition’s procedures and application process.
