UOB Panel Discussion Explores Cultural Innovation & Creative Entrepreneurship
The University of Bahrain held a panel discussion titled “Cultural Innovation and Creative Entrepreneurship.” The session focused on the future of cultural industries in the Kingdom of Bahrain, mechanisms for transforming creative ideas into economic projects, and the role of institutional support and modern technologies in empowering Bahraini youth.
The session was presented by: Shaikha Marwa bint Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Arts Society; Professor Odeh Al-Jayyousi, Head of the Innovation and Technology Management Department at the Arabian Gulf University; Faisal Al Arayadh, Head of Creative Sectors at Tamkeen; and entrepreneur Nada Hassan Al Alawi, Founder and Creative Director of “Al Nada” company.
The session concluded with an open discussion where the speakers presented recommendations focusing on the role of educational institutions and supporting bodies in enhancing youth participation in cultural industries and encouraging the use of modern technologies to develop creative projects. Participants emphasized that supporting student initiatives and providing stimulating environments contribute to building a generation capable of innovation and execution within Bahrain’s growing cultural market.
The panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Ranya Abdul Majeed Baqer, Assistant Professor in the Department of Media, Tourism, and Arts at the College of Arts, University of Bahrain.
