UOB Students Leverage Graphic Design for Community Service

University of Bahrain students fully presented a public awareness campaign. This initiative is part of a student project for the “Computer Graphics” course, where students form teams to design and execute public awareness campaigns addressing social issues of their choice. The initiative aims to harness the students’ technical and artistic skills to create a positive social impact by tackling a wide range of topics, including social, health, and environmental causes.

Among the most notable campaigns was “Digital Gratitude,” which focused on bridging the digital divide between generations. Students conducted field visits to several nursing homes across the Kingdom of Bahrain. Each student sat with an elderly individual to explain how to use smart applications that could simplify their daily lives. This included teaching them how to follow the news, use service apps, and perform basic digital transactions, thereby fostering their integration into the digital world and empowering them to keep pace with technological advancements.

Each academic year witnesses the implementation of dozens of such innovative campaigns across various fields. Collectively, they play a vital role in raising public awareness and addressing pressing community issues, transforming the educational process into a genuine means of contributing to societal development and service.
