UOB Students Train as Assistants for Art Teachers in Schools

A group of University of Bahrain students trained as art teacher assistants, as part of the university’s vision to develop art education and prepare a new generation capable of passing on creative expertise, we launched the “Artist of the Future” initiative last year. This program aims to train Fine Arts students to work as teaching assistants in schools.

Within this initiative, the trainee student works as an assistant to an art teacher at a local school, participating in a comprehensive range of supportive tasks. This includes contributing to lesson preparation, designing creative educational activities, and assisting in organizing school exhibitions and various artistic events.

The training program extends over a full academic semester, during which the student gains direct, practical experience in the field of art education. They learn modern teaching methods, classroom management techniques, the fundamentals of designing supplementary curricula, and the skills needed to organize specialized art exhibitions and events.

This initiative represents a qualitative leap in preparing art students for a teaching career, as it integrates academic knowledge with hands-on field application. It effectively contributes to qualifying specialized artistic personnel who possess the necessary skills to help develop the educational process and enhance the standard of art education in the Kingdom.
