UOB’s “Law” Reviews Mandates of the Special Investigation Unit
The College of Law at the University of Bahrain held a lecture titled “The Special Investigation Unit and Its Role in Protecting Human Rights within the Criminal Justice System.”
Ali Mohammed Al-Jassim, Chief Prosecutor and member of the Special Investigation Unit, presented the unit’s mandates, functions, and objectives. The session aimed to enhance faculty members and law students’ legal awareness and familiarize them with the unit’s general framework of responsibilities, and highlight its role in supporting the justice system.
The lecture also sought to promote legal awareness and institutional education by emphasizing the importance of ensuring criminal justice through the principles of integrity and transparency in investigative procedures. It further shed light on the Special Investigation Unit’s national role in safeguarding and protecting human rights, in line with national legislation and international standards.
